MBFWA - Designer Opportunity

posted 9 Apr 2012 18:14 by Sarah conners
As you would be aware, 2012 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia is fast approaching. Running from 30 April- 4 May, MBFWA provides an unrivalled platform for Australian designers of fashion apparel and accessories to showcase their ranges to domestic and international buyers and media representatives.

This year, NSW Trade & Investment is pleased to offer NSW designers an exciting, no-cost opportunity to make use of this promotional platform.

In partnership with Destination NSW, the Council of Textile and Fashion Industries of Australia (TFIA) and Austrade, and with the full support of event organiser, IMG Fashion Asia/Pacific, NSW Trade& Investment will be running a business lounge within The Hub at the Overseas Passenger Terminal for the duration of MBFWA. This will enable them to offer business matching and one-on-one meetings for local designers seeking national and international market opportunities, who would not otherwise have access to the event.

As a basis for matching businesses to relevant buyers/media, you will need to contact Jelena Damnjanovic, email jelena.damnjanovic@business.nsw.gov.au for the application form, and email it back
by Thursday, 12 April.

This information will be relayed to interstate and international delegates who register for the event, and NSW Trade & Investment will be asking interested delegates to nominate a half-hour timeslot to meet with you at the business lounge. NSW Trade& Investment will then liaise with you in locking in these meeting arrangements.

Besides leveraging the opportunity presented by MBFWA, NSW Trade & Investment and partners will also use the information you supply to:

-        respond to future enquiries from national and international buyers;

-        alert you to upcoming promotional opportunities, such as international trade missions, exhibitions and in-market activities;

-        invite you to enterprise improvement/management development workshops, such as those conducted by the TFIA’s Australian Fashion Council Export Cluster; and

-        advise you of assistance available under State and Commonwealth Government programs.

If you would like to discuss this no-cost opportunity, please contact Jelena on ph. 02 9338 6929, or Paul Judge on ph. 02 9338 6658
