A cluster program launching as part of new joint initiative between the Council of Textile & Fashion Industries of Australia (TFIA) and Melbourne’s Kangan Institute will enhance the potential of small and medium enterprises in the TCF sector.
The Textiles and Fashion Hub will be the new home for SMEs to develop market leading products and the skills needed to grow their businesses in a global market place.
With building nearly complete, the hub, located at Kangan’s Richmond campus, would take much of its direction from 10 TFIA industry clusters, said TFIA cluster co-ordinator Sarah Conners, adding the purpose of the Hub Cluster network was to enable innovative product development, increased knowledge, up-skilling and project research.
The 10 cluster groups in the program are: knitting, footwear, CAD, sustainability, design, performance wear, exports, digital printing, mentoring and standards......
